Hi friends,
As organizations grow, their greatest challenges are rarely technical—they’re relational. It is key to build healthy connected leaders who know how to build healthy, connected teams.
I partner with small businesses, churches, and nonprofits to help leaders develop the character capacities and relational intelligence (RQ) needed to build healthy, resilient teams and sustainable cultures.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your leadership team, improve communication and trust, or make a long-term investment in developing your leaders, here are a few ways we can partner together:
TPRAT Teams Workshops – A team assessment and workshop experience designed to measure and strengthen your organization’s Relational Intelligence (RQ).
Built on Dr. John Townsend’s evidence-based Growth Model and decades of research on character development, the TPRAT (Townsend Personal & Relational Assessment Tool) provides practical and measurable insight into the relational capacities that drive trust, accountability, communication, resilience, and leadership effectiveness.
Unlike many tools that focus primarily on personality or style, the TPRAT is an evidence-based model of growth and development that identifies the relational capacities required to meet the demands of reality.
Communication, trust, accountability, engagement, and team effectiveness are all influenced by the relational capacities of the individuals who make up the team. This workshop helps teams identify strengths, blind spots, and growth opportunities while creating a shared language for healthier relationships and stronger collaboration.
Monthly Leadership Development – Monthly half-day on-site or off-site sessions designed for teams of 6–8 key leaders who want to strengthen leadership capacity and cultivate healthier teams.
Rather than simply training leaders, we will focus on developing leaders who can build relationally intelligent teams throughout the organization—creating culture-wide growth and long-term sustainability.
Each session includes:
- Practical leadership training based on the work of Dr. John Townsend
- Assessment insights and leadership development tools
- Guided discussion around real organizational challenges
- Application and integration into your team’s current realities
Topics may include:
- Building trust and relational safety
- Establishing healthy boundaries and accountability
- Embracing and navigating negative realities
- Managing difficult people
- Preventing burnout and increasing resilience
- Developing emerging leaders
The goal is to increase organization-wide Relational Intelligence (RQ), leadership effectiveness, accountability, and team health—creating an environment where staff, volunteers, and leaders can thrive while remaining aligned around a shared mission.
Townsend Leadership Program – For organizations that want to make a long-term investment in developing their leaders.
The Townsend Leadership Program is a year-long, cohort-based leadership experience designed to develop the character capacities that shape every aspect of leadership. Each cohort meets monthly in my Santa Cruz home for a full day. Grounded in Dr. John Townsend’s evidence-based Growth Model, participants engage in a confidential, highly experiential group where growth happens through both learning and authentic relationships.
Throughout the year, leaders receive assessment insights, practical teaching, experiential learning, coaching, and meaningful feedback from both me as their coach and their peers. The cohort becomes a place to practice new ways of leading while developing the emotional maturity and relational intelligence that influence every area of life and leadership.
Organizations often sponsor key leaders to participate in the Townsend Leadership Program because lasting organizational change begins with transformed leaders.
Why work with me to build your teams?
My work is grounded in Dr. John Townsend’s evidence-based Growth Model and Relational Intelligence (RQ), which has been used for decades to develop leaders, teams, and organizations. Rather than focusing solely on skills or personality, this model develops the relational capacities required to meet the demands of reality—resulting in stronger leaders, healthier teams, and more resilient cultures.
